Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and What is it all about.

TPMS is an monitoring system using electronics to alert drivers of either a low or no pressure in one of your vehicles tires. In some vehicle models this notification is alerted to the driver via an indication on the dashboard or an icon or other warning light.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) in my Vehicle, Why?

in 2007, the United States Department Of Transportation (through NHTSA) required the installation of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System to all new vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 lbs. or less (except those vehicles with dual wheels on an axle). Legislation requiring TPMS was passed as a reaction from a Congressional hearing on vehicle rollover deaths being caused, in part, by under inflated tires on vehicles.

My car has TPMS and it requires servicing, What should I expect the repair shop to do?

  1. Verification that your TPMS sensors and system are functioning properly and service or replace any non-functioning component of your TPMS sensors,
    2. Replacement of TPMS sensor sealing components to ensure the system is intact and no leaks occur that would give a faulty reading. These components include the cap, core grommet and nut.
    3. Resetting and synchronization of the TPMS sensors to your vehicle’s computer to ensure proper communication between the individual tire transmitters of the sensors and the receiving unit in your vehicle’s computer.
    4. Final check and verification that your TPMS system is functioning properly after tire service is complete.

My Car does NOT have TPMS, What can I do?

Fortunately there is an aftermarket for automotive accessories available where you can improve on the performance with a system from BlackCoupe. We offer a superior TPMS that has additional features not found in your vehicle manufactures version.

BlackCoupeoffers a TPMSthat includes a temperature sensor for each tire so when you are enjoying a spirited drive you can always watch your tires working for you with a glance and see pressure and temperature information for each individual tire.

BlackCoupe TPMS  are very easily installed.. Just simply place the solar charged receiving unit in your vehicle where it is easily viewed and them simply replace the current tire valve stem caps by unscrewing the old ones and twisting on the new ones from BlackCoupe.

BlackCoupe TPMS  receiver is battery powered and can be charged using USB as well is solar charged continuously so your display is never out of contact with your sensors on the tire valve caps.

BlackCoupe TPMS   comes in three color choices (Blue Pink Black)

How often should I check my tire pressure?

All tires will lose air naturally over time with atmospheric pressure and temperature changes. Tire pressure can drop about 1 psi for every 10°F drop in ambient temperature and/or can lose as much as 1.5 psi per month as air escapes the tire and rim naturally. Tires do not have to be damaged or punctured to lose air so it’s recommended that you check the pressure in all tires (including the spare) ideally once a week and at a minimum of at least once per month. Road conditions, weather conditions or other circumstances may warrant checking the pressure more often. Ensure you always use a quality tire pressure gauge when checking tire pressure like the one available from BlackCoupe

A underinflated tire is not always detectable by simply looking at it, It will not talk back to you by kicking or pressing on the tire. The only way to accurately check tire pressure is by using a quality pressure gauge.

Benefits of TPMS

TPMS provide real safety as well economic benefits for motorists. Maintaining the correct tire pressure, the ride and handling characteristics of your vehicle are improved resulting in reduce stopping distances, reduced potential for hydroplaning, increase MPG, smoother ride over rough surfaces an extend tire life. With TPMS sensors like the one available from BlackCoupeyour journey will have increased safety as well comfort!! Get your today from BlackCoupe!!
